New Features – Worked With Endorsements, Metrics and More

Spring has finally arrived here in New York City and with it we’re pleased to announce a bunch of improvements we’ve been making over the winter months.

Worked With

Now, by popular demand, you can endorse someone with just a single click!

The latest endorsements feature prominently on the homepage…

…and all Worked With endorsements appear on the right side of every profile page, offering a convenient snapshot of everyone who has loved working with that company / freelancer (yup, you read that right… more on freelancers later this summer).

Profile Enhancements

We’ve also received a bit of feedback requesting additional data fields for profiles.

The first improvement we’ve made is the addition of Honors & Awards. Use this to list every recognition for your work (and we know some of you have been recognized A LOT).

We’ve also added support for more social pages including Tumblr, IMDB and Behance.

Look for further improvements to profile pages in the next couple months.

Metrics

Building on top of the profile metrics feature we launched back in December, we’ve now added profile interactions to the available metrics for all profiles.

Profile interactions allow you to see how many times users have clicked any of the links (website, email, social, etc.) on your profile.

Our mission is to connect people with the best service providers in the world. With the addition of interaction metrics, you can now better connect your VendorDB profile visits to that last RFP.

User Profiles

We’ve also improved the profile page for all users.

Beyond updating your personal information, you can now view everyone you’ve endorsed…

…and manage any reviews that you’ve left. All in one convenient location.

We can’t thank everyone enough for the support and feedback we’ve received since the launch of VendorDB.

We’ve got a ton of great stuff in the pipeline for this summer so keep an eye out for new announcements.

And don’t forget, if you’re interested in being added to VendorDB, submit your URL here.

New Feature – Sign In with Google and Facebook

In preparation for a major new feature we’ll be rolling out in the very near future, we’re pleased to announce that we’ve added two new sign in options:

Now you can choose between LinkedIn, Google and Facebook in order to sign in and access all the great features of VendorDB.

And if you forget which one you’ve used in the past, don’t worry! We’ll figure out who you are and link your existing account with any of the social profiles you use to sign in.

New Feature – Profile Metrics

Want to know if your profile page is worth the $0.00 you’re spending on it?

Just like Facebook, LinkedIn and the other big platforms, we believe that you should see exactly how you benefit from maintaining a profile on VendorDB. And to us, that doesn’t mean vague statistics such as how many visitors the site sees overall or how many countries users come from. What’s truly valuable to your business is the activity on your company’s profile.

So today we’re rolling out profile metrics to all page managers.

Profile metrics offer a snapshot of your profile’s activity. We’re launching with insights into daily page traffic over the previous 90 days as well as recent visitors (locations and companies), and we’ll be adding additional data such as page interactions in the comings months.

For those wondering about the tech side of things, we’ve built this using a combination of Google Analytics data and our own proprietary tracking built on the Keen IO API. You can read more on how to make use of the Google Analytic’s API using Python over on Chris’ blog.

So if you haven’t already claimed your profile, do so today, there’s really no reason not to (it is FREE after all).

New Feature – Managing Profile Managers

Hot on the heels of the self-managed profiles release, we’ve added the ability for all page managers to add / remove additional team members.

In addition to being able to make changes to profile content, managers get notifications whenever we receive a review for their company and, in the near future, access to profile analytics that contain valuable insights into who is viewing your content.

To add a new profile manager, simply click the ‘Add Manager’ button and enter the person’s email address. We’ll shoot them an invitation which they can use to activate their account.

If you haven’t already signed up for the self-managed profile beta, head over here and do so now!

New Feature – Self-Managed Profiles

Ready to take charge of your VendorDB profile and be seen by a ton of amazing companies?

Well, the wait is over!

Today we’re pleased to announce the launch of self-managed profiles. Customize your imagery, company details, search tags and more.

Price? While we briefly considered making this yet another overpriced directory, the pills eventually wore off.

Managing your profile is 100% FREE. That’s right – we got you!

As this feature is still in beta, please submit your information to get started today.

We look forward to hearing what you think.

New Feature – Favorites

Today we’re releasing a handy new feature allowing you to save your favorite companies.

Simply click the ‘Fav’ button on the company’s profile page and they’ll be added to your list.

You can access your favorites by clicking the heart icon in the main navigation. Enjoy!
